I have contacted Europe Cargo back in May of this year to ship a pallet with personal belongings from Belgium to Canada. I have send them the dimensions and the cubic metrage of the pallet. They have sent me a quote including ALL the the fees and charges from Belgium to the final destination in Canada excluding the customs fees and the final handling and delivery fees from the Edmonton warehouse to my house. I have accepted the quote. the carrier showed up at the pick-up address and as an appetizer, he tipped the pallet over on the ground right in front of the house ! After 15' of hard work, we were able to bring the pallet back upright with the help of some people that were passing by.

Even before the pallet arrives at destination, they have adjusted the quote because of the difference of weight, which was another 172 euros and then another 58 euros. if I wasn't giving proof of payment, they wouldn't release the pallet.

That's what they do, they keep your shipment as hostage !

The pallet arrives in Montreal, which is 3500km far from the final destination. The company that it is in charge of taking the pallet from the vessel, bring it to its warehouse and put it on a truck to Edmonton, send me an invoice of $397 CAN for handling and shipping !

These fees are included in the Europe Cargo bill that I have received. It is clearly stated that the LCL fees are in the Europe Cargo's invoice.

When I have contacted the LCL company in Montreal, they have confirmed that those fees were for shipping and handling in the Montreal terminal.

Finally I have received the pallets, paid the custom fees and the Edmonton's terminal fees as well(as it was planned it the first place).

I have communicated numerous times with Europe Cargo, up to Fred Konings, the general manager but for all of them and for him as well, there is nothing wrong with this shipping...

So, basically, when you schedule a shipping from point A to point B, you have paid all the charges involved in this shipping, you show Europe Cargo that you have paid TWICE the LCL fees and charges in Montreal for this shipping, they keep telling you that according to them, everything looks good and they have charged me the right amount.

I really have a hard time to understand people that are clearly denying the obvious !

I won't use their services ever again.
