Hundreds of dollars spent on a computer for it to have issues. I get it that can happen. The problem is no one answers their email or support line. I have called and emailed for TWO MONTHS. I’ve called during their specific hours and emailed countless times. No answer or response. This is not ok especially for what was spent on this computer! It’s borderline scamming people.

Horrible company to buy a computer from. I bought one of their desktops they advertise on Amazon and nothing was qhat they advertised. The ram was suppose to be 16gb it was only 16 mb there was not HDD or SSD there was no windows installed there was no intergrated wifi and all this was advertised in their ad. I have a screen shot of their ad just incase they tried to lie about it. I bought the desktop yesterday and am sending it back today.
When a refurbished product is advertised with alot of things in it dont you think you should get whats advertised.
This company is a scam, fraud and fake and i have reported them to amazon and hopefully with all the other bad reviews they will be banned from selling through amazon. Fingers crossed.

My understanding after consulting with a certified Apple technician is that this organization is selling fake 'refurbished' Apple laptops. These are not refurbished units, but are using taped-together non-Apple parts. Avoid at all costs.

Like so many others I have to say that this company just plain sucks. Bought a refurbish DELL Desktop, it worked okay for a while, but then started to power off randomly. Provided so called support, with the service tag, model and serial numbers. Not good enough for these clowns, that want proof of purchase, etc..it's their damn service tag for crying out loud. Rather than deal with these clowns and their song and dance to avoid covering their product under warranty, I just returned it to Amazon, with a complaint about the company. I haven't seen a company this crooked since I had to deal with the lying losers at LG. Do Not Buy Advanced Skyline Technology Products, THEY SELL JUNK AND WILL MAKE IT A NIGHTMARE TO GET THEIR SO CALLED SUPPORT.

I feel like I've been scammed!

My old desktop finally died, and I needed a new one asap (I'm a school teacher, it's report card season.. a computer is crucial!). I was very wary of buying a refurbished computer, but figured I could trust Best Buy backed companies. We live in BC and can barely afford groceries, let alone a computer, so we went for it.

I purchased a refurbished desktop computer through Best Buy's website, by Advanced Skytech Ltd. on April 17, it arrived April 26. I set it up, but it's had very little use. May 25, I get a message that hard drive failure is imminent, and then sure enough, it crashes completely. Now I'm out $350 and have no computer, yet again.

I contacted the company to request a return and refund, and they tell me that my 30 days is up. Turns out, it's 30 days from the day you place the order, not the day it arrives (nowhere is this specified on Best Buy's website, it just says 30 days). Go figure! The Rep then tells me I can pay, at my expense, to ship this massive computer back to Ontario and it'll be 3-5 weeks to repair it (with what I'm sure will be more cheap, defective hardware that will crash as soon as warranty is up!).

I thought Best Buy was a reputable company, and am honestly shocked that I've just been swindled and it's just being allowed to happen. Contacted Best Buy - so far nothing from them either. I guess it's my mistake and I will have to live and learn, but hopefully someone else will read this and avoid being scammed! Beware of Advanced Skytech Ltd...

DETAILED, HUMAN REVIEW ON MY PURCHASE:

Wanted to write a review earlier but decided to wait a few months to see how the computer holds up.

I ordered a $600 gaming PC from Best Buy's online store. After ordering it, I came to realize it was a third party purchase by AST. Opened their google page, read all the nightmare reviews, and was super worried. Considered cancelling the order, but figured I'd just see how it went.

The PC that came featured a GTX 1060Ti graphics card, as mentioned in the ad. 16GB ram (32 was an option for $50 more, but they were sold out). They were a little ambiguous as to the rest of the specs, so I sort of expected the worst.

The processor I got was intel i5 6th gen, which is super old, but can't really expect much better for the price range. My only gripe is that the motherboard is part of the HP workstation, which means that it's basically impossible to upgrade the processor. If I ever plan to upgrade parts, I'll basically have to swap out the entire motherboard, meaning I can only really keep the graphics card (which is where most of the value is anyway) and the two samsung 8GB RAM slots.

It comes with a 512GB SSD, the brand is "Kingfast". Not the best nor the worst, you can do your own research. Naturally, they went with the cheaper components.

I've had this computer for around 4 months, and so far it's actually been running pretty good. No major flaws have shown yet, everything is working as expected. The computer is, understandably, not super speedy, sometimes it can freeze up or take a long time to load things, but that's just because the processor is like 7 years old.

I've been able to run practically any game at at least 50-60fps, and low-demand games like League of Legends at 140 (minimum 80) on max settings. Although, again, because of the processor, sometimes the gameplay on graphically demanding games can be quite stuttery. The only real exception has been Tarkov, where I can barely get a steady 40fps, but Tarkov is super poorly optimized anyway.

The deal I bought did come with a mouse and keyboard, but they were of pretty poor quality. The brand is basically unheard of. I swapped it all out for razer gear within a few days.

The computer itself was in fine condition, no damage, but there is sort of a fading in the color on one side of the tower. Doesn't bother me much though.

OVERALL:

For $600 ($550 before tax), I got probably around $500 worth of computer. If you're savvy, you could probably build yourself a computer of similar or better quality for the same price, but personally this has worked just fine for me and it runs well enough to do basically everything I need it to do.

It took around 3 weeks to ship to BC, Canada, and this was in the middle of boxing week, so it definitely could have been worse.

A lot of the reviews complain about customer service - I can't really speak on that because I havent had to deal with them much aside from asking them for updates about the shipping, and at the time they were very prompt with their responses.

Maybe I'm just one of the lucky ones amidst all these bad reviews, but according to my experience, if you're looking for a starter PC to run some decent games and get some work done, AST has you covered.

I went on Bestbuy.ca to find a black Friday sale. I purchased a laptop refurbished unaware that it was going to be used, scratched so badly most of the paint was missing from the front edge of the case, the ports still had a large sum of dust inside. I never even turned on the power, I want a refund.
Advance skyline Technology does not answer the phone and when you send an email requesting to return their product, they give you a run around, requesting pictures and they take 24 hours to respond to each request. I paid 550 dollars for a refurbished laptop and if I saw the condition this thing was in prior to the purchase, I wouldn't buy it at any price. Now I feel like I'm stuck with something that can't be returned. This is wrong

UPDATE: The company provided a full refund. That does not mean I would purchase from the company a second time. But, I am grateful for the refund.

I would give this company zero stars if I could. The company is a scam!
I bought a refurbished Dell laptop spring 2020 through Bestbuy. It was the first time purchasing a refurbished laptop, but came recommended by an IT friend. In less than eight months it was sent in to this company twice. The second time a rep at the company claimed they did not receive it. The missing laptop situation has been an absolute nightmare. Whether they received it or not, what's supposed to be a good quality laptop should not be required major repairments within eight months!
Do not buy from this company!
